2024

This exhibition is the result of the Skynet Artistic Residency: Challenges of the Present, held from June 3rd to June 7th, 2024, at the São Francisco Building located in Chamusca. The six artists and students from Lusófona University present projects in the areas of photography, drawing, sound, video, and performance. Under the mentorship and curatorship of the artist Manuel Santos Maia, the students were challenged to create one or more artistic projects that reflect on some current themes.

For the second consecutive year, the São Francisco Building in Chamusca hosts this event. This initiative results from the partnership protocol between the Municipality of Chamusca and Lusófona University of Lisbon.

In a context of profound social and technological changes with significant impacts on educational practices and processes, the course "Skynet: Challenges of the Present" offers a multi- and interdisciplinary space. Coordinated by professors João Sousa Cardoso and Orlando Franco, this initiative aims to cross and explore various skills and fields of knowledge encompassed by the Department of Cinema and Media Arts at Lusófona University of Lisbon.
